Go to System Preferences, click "Keyboard & Mouse".
Click the tab that says "keyboard".
Where it says "Delay until repeat", try moving the
lever to "Long". You can test this by typing in the
box that says "Type here to test settings".
If you're still getting letters repeating, then move
the lever all the way to "off". If it's "off", you'll
aways get only one letter when you push down a key,
no matter how long you hold the key
down.
Those of you with this problem wouldn't be using
wireless keyboards would you?
I am so hating this. It is nearly impossible for me
to write and I NEED to write on my PowerBook 15 inch
G4 as I'm on the road. It is so frustrating. My
computer has word 5 running on OS9. I have OSX and
Netscape. It doesn't happen here right now but when
typing a name for a picture in Adobe PhotoShop it
repeats. It repeats in Word 5 and some times I get as
many as seven repeat letters. It has to be software
as I have no issues now and can type here as fast as
I want. It can't be the keyboard. Could this be a
corruption of some Microsoft software?
It is nice to be able to type without having repeat
letters.
