Q: VOICE CONTROL

Hi can anyone help.  The voice control on my ipod seems to be locked on.  Everytime i try to open an app it tells me what the app is but won't open it.  I also can't slide to the next screen or up and down.  Just keeps telling me the time, battery life etc when i touch the screen.
