Updated to iOS 5.1.1 - Battery now lasts 4 hours or less

iPhone 4, Black.

Has anybody else had this problem?

Since I udpated to iOS 5.1.1., my battery drains like a fiend. I've sat here and watched it lose 1% every 2-3 minutes at times.

1. I've already closed all my background apps

2. I've already rebooted

3. I've already drained the battery to 0 and recharged to full.

Prior to 5.1.1, my phone would last all day (from 6am-10pm) with normal usage and only be down to 60% or so. If it's charged in my car at 100%, by the time I walk 3 blocks to my office it's down to 93-90%. I've also noticed that the back has been warmer, as if I was using a heavy app, even though nothing is running.

I don't think the physical battery decided to start dying at the EXACT moment I installed the newest software update, amirite?

Basic troubleshooting steps clearly outlined in the User Guide are restart, reset, restore from backup, restore as NEW.

If you've been through ALL these steps and you still have problems, then you'll need to bring your phone into Apple.

I have noticed the same. I have watched my battery drop 1% every 3 mins since I updated to 5.1.1. I never had any battery issues on the 4s until now

I did another full drain last night and recharged. It's been sitting on my desk without any usage at all since 7:30am this morning (so 3.5 hours) and it's down to 71%. So that's an improvement over yesterday, when it drained from 100% to about 30% in the same amount of time.

Try a restart, reset, restore as new. Don't install any apps from the backup. This way we can narrow down the issue.

Is your Bluetooth or wifi on?

Bluetooth is off, WiFi is on.

I'm doing a full reset and restore now to see if that fixes it.

Do you define a full drian as the Iphone shuts off automagically? I'm having the inverse of your problem my Iphone is not draining the battery fast enough. I assume its incorrect and will take time to relearn the battery.

I'm having the same problem as others on here. No Blue Tooth. Just started since I updated to 5.1.1 (directly from the phone instead of going through desktop iTunes if that matters at all). Went from full charge at 8 this a.m. to almost dead by 2 p.m. Phone has been recharged and died a couple more times today. Apple REALLY needs to fix this bug.

Love_Starbucks - Was the Phone not being used between 8-2PM? If not, how many hours was it used to talk/surf/video?

Performed the following while hooked to iTunes: restart, reset, restore from backup. However I did not restore from NEW. Today battery @ 64% after 2:17 usage 10:14 standby; yesterday I was <20% at this point.

So I did a full restore and updated all my apps again. Battery life is better but still nowhere near where it was before 5.1.1. Sitting idle on the desk without touching it drained only 5% instead of 20% over the course of 2 hours.

Mines ATT by the way.

It was used on and off. Maybe a total of 1/2 hour or so?

I found that by turning off Siri's 'Raise to Speak' I've dramatically improved the battery life over what I experienced since I installed the update to 5.1.1. It's not a good as it was prior to the upgrade but there's a HUGE difference. I've gone almost the whole day on a singe charge!

SAME here! After the update BATT dies in less than 9 hours! Before 5.1.1 it lasted more than 24 hours!!!

Same thing here! I have 1-32gb 4s AT&T. 3-16gb 4 AT&T. All phones in locked screen from 100% at 6:00am dead by 2:30pm. Wifi is on, Bluetooth is off. This is a iOS issue. Please fix it. We should not have to reset to factory because this is a bad update.
