how to delete file after error code -8072 mac os 10.7.3

I read some different methods on here but decided to go to Applications->Utilities and Disk Utility and chose Repair permissions. After they were fixed, I was able to delete the file that had the error code -8072.

Open up Terminal and enter the following: sudo rm -rf (then drag the file.folder you wish to delete into the Terminal window). Press ENTER and the file should be deleted.

I just helped someone with this issue today. The customer was trying to delte from a network drive connect to a Time Capsule. The customer was NOT using Time Machine to create the backup. He was using Superduper. Anyway, as soon as he directly connect the drive to the computer and ran repair disk in Disk Utility we quicly seen that there was an issue with the Hard drive and not just the file. The customer was able to successfully delete the file and reformat the Hard Drive.
