I'm using iMovie '09 and I have Advanced features turned on. I am having issues syncing up audio and video with a few of my clips.

If you want to detach audio, you can right-click on a clip and select Detach Audio in the popup menu.
It should also be in the EDIT menu.
I know how to detach the audio. I am having trouble syncing up the audio and video for some clips in my movie and one of the suggested things to do was to extract audio and use the audio as one separate track. I don't know where I find "extract audio."
I don't know if that will help you but you can do that.
Use SHARE/EXPORT USING QUICKTIME.
Choose Sound to AIFF.
I can't find the advanced menu in order to extract audio.
