USB3 Toshiba external HDD won't work with macbook pro

Hi evryone

I was bought a Toshiba 1TB external hard drive with port of USB3, I see that my macbook pro won't recognize it. Since this HDD was work with Dell laptop and the PC. So is the problem was the port power.

Okay - so I made the mistake of buying a heavily discounted Toshiba external HDD from Comet in their file sale:- which means that I can't take it back.


I couldn't get it work and found out I'm not the only one - which is really frustrating.


I did discover one thing though - if for some reason like me you're using an external plugin keyboard for your MBP then you can plug the HDD into this, and it will work.


I don't know why - I was under the impression that output power from an external keyboard was lower than from the USB socket on the MBP - but it does work.
