Is iPhoto '11 compatible with mac OS 10.6.8?

I have a macbook pro Mac OS X (10.6.8) and my iphoto has suddenly stopped working. I wonder whether I have missed some updates and now I have to purchase the iphoto '11?

You don't have to purchase iPhoto 11. What version do you have currently?

I had the iPhoto 9.1.3. I tried reinstalling based on some of your earlier posts but couldn't do it (or did it wrong).

I tried the cmd/option key plus clicking on the iPhoto icon but that didn't do anything. I then tried to delete the pkg files but didn't manage to reinstall iPhoto but that may be because I didn't know how to do it.

iPhoto 9.1.3 is iPhoto 11.

To re-install iPhoto

1. Put the iPhoto.app in the trash (Drag it from your Applications Folder to the trash)

2a: On 10.5: Go to HD/Library/Receipts and remove any pkg file there with iPhoto in the name.

2b: On 10.6: Those receipts may be found as follows: In the Finder use the Go menu and select Go To Folder. In the resulting window type

/var/db/receipts/

2c: on 10.7 they're at

/private/var/db/receipts

A Finder Window will open at that location and you can remove the iPhoto pkg files.

3. Re-install.

If you purchased an iLife Disk, then iPhoto is on it.

If iPhoto was installed on your Mac when you go it then it’s on the System Restore disks that came with your Mac. Insert the first one and opt to ‘Install Bundled Applications Only.

If you purchased it on the App Store or have a Recent Mac you can find it in your Purchases List.

What is the answer to the original post? Does anyone know if iphoto 11 works with 10.6.8?

iPhoto '11, version 9.2.3 is as high as you can update while running Snow Leopard, version 10.6.8.
