Push Notifications not working on any app (Whatsapp, Beejive, Mail) after update 5.1.1, Help!

I'm gonna try to be clear with my problem. I have a Gmail Account working on Microsoft Exchange, for IM messaging I'm using Beejive IM with Push and I'm also using Whatsapp. Before Updating it to iOS 5.1.1 all Push notifications were working flawless, however, after I upgraded it to 5.1.1, I began having troubles. After 1 minute of having the Iphone locked, I don't get any push notification, nor on the email, nor on the Whatsapp, neither on the Beejive. If I unlock it and I re-open one of them, for ex, I go to check my contact list on Beejive, I get all the mails, and all the instant msgs that people had sent to me after I locked my iPhone; it's like, my iPhone was locked for 30 minutes. In those 30 minutes people sent me 4 msgs on whatsapp, 4 msgs on beejive and 4 mails. Once I unlock my iPhone and I go to one of the 3 apps (mail, whatsapp or beejive), I get the 12 items (4 msg from whatsapp, 4 msgs from beejive and 4 mails) at that exactly time. It's crazy, it's like, with this new update push notifications got disabled for every app or what happened to my iPhone on this upgrade? I really need help. WIthout Push, none of them apps works cool for me. I'm using Iphone 4 on a 3G network.

Ps: I tried restoring it x3, I unistalled the apps, mail, etc and nothing worked.

PS2: If someone is using whatsapp or beejive im with push on the new iOS 5.1.1 and push notifications are working good for them, please let me know it so I will know it's my iPhone hardware problem to bring it to technical service

Thanks in advance

I seem to be having the same problem on my brand new iPhone 4S. Everything was working fine on the phone until I updated to iOS 5.1.1, but now I no longer receive push notifications for the native Mail app, Instagram, or the Facebook app. I still seem to be receiving SMS texts and iMessages via push, but the aforementioned apps need to be opened before I can receive missed notifications (having them open in the background seems to make no difference).

Thanks for any help that you may provide!

Hi all,

I have also a problem on my new IPAD3 with ISO5.1.1. I just received it, it told me that there was a new IOS version available. I upgraded it. And now NO NOTIFICATIONS.

I remove all notifications in Settings and reenabled notifications for some apps (mostly newpapers). I got nothing. On my old iPad 1 with same version I got all notifications on the same apps with no problems.

As I just got my new iPad, I was suspected the notification Apple servers to havent updated there notifications database.

But now I have it for 2 days....it seems something is wrong in Apple notifications servers.

Hope this can help solving this bug !!

Hi all,

I have the exact same problem on my iPad 2 and iphone 4s after getting them updated to IOS5.1.1. I receive NO Notifications for emails. Both devices do not push nor fetch new emails. It bascially doesn't check emails automatically. I need to open the Mail apps to check emails manually. I have tried everything suggested by the Apple official website, my Yahoo mail webiste and experts on the internet. Nothing works! It is very frustrating!

Please help fix the bug!

Hi,

I was twice in touch with technical support yesterday about my iPad 3.

1) first one: she ask me to reset from Settings ==> General.... If I could not get notifications, she ask me to restore a backup. Still no notifications. I call back

2) second one, she ask me to restore from scratch (like a new IPad) and restore manuallys applications and other data. Still not working.

Tomorow I will contact them again.

Hi,

Technical support ask me to return back the iPAD. I am doubting about this problem solving. Why ?

1) notifications is mainly a IOS problem. It works or it is buggy.

2) Apple server infrastructure is involved in notification process

It could be hardware if for example, WIFI is not enough strong and looses connection.

I am waiting for the new iPad. But actually my iPAD 3 backup is running fine on my iPAD 1 hardware.

I've had my phone for 9 months and all was fine until I upgraded to 5.1.1. Now my phone forgets to push or fetch after a day or so. I can re-boot, or make a setting change to push/fetch (even though it's correct), then change it back and it will work for a day or so, then stops getting updates automatically again. Apple was no help, nor was I going to give them more money for phone support!

Well, not sure how exactly, but mine seems to be working again. I removed my mail settings, reset the device, then added my mail settings back in and push seems to be working... No guarantees, but this seems to have helped me. Other apps are pushing properly after this as well... (though they may have been ok before. Email was my biggest problem / concern.)

SAME PROBLEM

The Apple store are trying to say they know nothing of this problem, they know that if you delete your yahoo mail and then add the account again then push notification works for a day. So they do that for you, but won't listen when you tell them that it won't be working by the next day! This is to get you out of the shop. They don't have an answer to why your other notifications aren't working (like alerts etc) even though you have push on.

So what are we to do? The main point for me getting an iPhone was being able to be alerted when I received an email as I am out and about all day!

How can we get somebody in Apple to admit this problem and find a resolve for it before we all have to go buy a phone that will notify you of your email, messages ans alert?
