VMWare Fusion 3 won't run after Lion 10.7.4 update

Yesterday I updates Lion to 10.7.4.

Today I went to run WinXP under VMWare Fusion 3 and got the following errors:

"Unable to retrieve kernel zone size"

"Failed to initialize monitor device."

"Cannot find a valid peer process to connect to"

It won't start.

1. Any fixes?

2. Can I roll back 10.7.4 to 10.7.3?

3. Can I re-install 10.7.0 on an external disk or partition and run from that? Then I could recover some files from WinXP. (Last backup of WinXP is a couple weeks old).

Other?

1. Try reinstalling the software. This should clear any software glitches.

2. No, you can't downgrade Mac OS X, other than the original Lion install (on your install disks)

3. Yes, you could probably do that. You could probably back up VMware software to your external drive (or the rest of your stuff), install Lion on your Mac HDD, then put everything back on the old HDD.

Just noting the original post on this issue by Alanisnotalwayshappy, I had the same problem

Running 10.7.2, VMWare Fusion 3 and WinXP and got the following errors:

"Unable to retrieve kernel zone size"

"Failed to initialize monitor device."

"Cannot find a valid peer process to connect to"

Used this link to update to VMWare 3.1.4

And it fixed the issue!

Thank you
