May 10, 2012 7:11 AM in response to ndmckayby wiclee,Close your iTunes,
Go to command Prompt -
(Win 7/Vista) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES, right mouse click "Command Prompt", choose "Run as Administrator".
(Win XP SP2 n above) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES/Command Prompt
In the "Command Prompt" screen, type in
netsh winsock reset
Hit "ENTER" key
Restart your computer.
If you do get a prompt after restart windows to remap LSP, just click NO.
Now launch your iTunes and see if it is working now.
If you are still having these type of problems after trying the winsock reset, refer to this article to identify which software in your system is inserting LSP:
iTunes 10.5 for Windows: May see performance issues and blank iTunes Store

May 23, 2012 3:04 AM in response to wicleeby Taru Agarwal,Tried all the option listed in this forum and support groups including adding a new firewall and running the netsh command, but nothing has worked for me as yet. Funny part is that it is working fine on my desktop but when i try to authorize my laptop I get this error. Any help from you or any of the support members is most welcome.

Mar 3, 2013 12:32 PM in response to wicleeby ald13,The winsock reset worked, and when it finished the command prompt procedure, a window popped up saying that my newly installed but currently disabled AVG Family Safety (formerly BSecure) software had been reset. Hmm. Posting that in case it helps anyone else. Thanks for the help!

Mar 11, 2013 12:36 PM in response to ndmckayby ald13,I was having this issue after downloading the AVG Family Protection filter recently (an upgrade/merge from BSecure Technologies' filter), and started having issues then. I even uninstalled the entire thing after reading their support pages and it STILL was blocking things, including Itunes, even after uninstalling. I deleted the folders manually and did a hard reset on my wireless router, and that cleared it out of my system. I then read articles here at Itunes Support and AVG support and found this thread here to be helpful, as well as this support article at AVG: http://forums.avg.com/ww-en/avg-forums?sec=thread&act=show&id=190891
I have a 64-bit Windows 7 system in case that helps.
As of doing all of these changes and resets, my AVG is working as well as my Itunes store. Hallelujah!
Hope this helps someone else! Thanks for these posts/this thread.
