update 5.1.1 problems

I use exchanged and have no problem since I updated to 5.1.1 when it first came out.

Delete account, REBOOT, add back. If you don't reboot the phone the account is not actually removed, so add back just reactivates what is already on the phone.

Same problem. Exchange sycs from desktop to server and from server to desktop; however, iphone does not update. Deleted account restarted and readded account, worked for about 5 minutes and then stopped syncing. How do you break something that has work for the past 3 years?

Have you been able to figure out the issue? I'm having the same symptoms with Hotmail via Exchange, except that I'm not using an enterprise iPhone. You mentioned that Exchange is not syncing, but that Hotmail is. How did you setup your Hotmail? POP3? There's an option for Hotmail via Exchange, and ever since 5.1, I cannot get Hotmail to sync correctly. If I delete Hotmail emails from the iPhone, it syncs. But if I delete via Hotmail web client, my iPhone doesn't delete the emails I deleted on the PC. 5.1.1 didn't fix it. I'm hoping someone has a clue as to what's going on here.

A complete wipe and a manual reinstall resolved my issues. I did this about five days ago and no problem since.

Hi brandonfromplymouth, pls how did u do the complete wipe and the manual reintalling? because, i have similar problem.

1. Copy all important images/videos to computer as backup since you can not use the restore from cloud for this to work.

2. Settings --> General --> Erase All Data and Settings

3. Once restarted Set Up New iPhone

4. Add all your mail accounts and redownload your apps

Ndiok - did it work for you? Same problems with me.

What version of Exchange?

IT Dept says it is Exchange 2003

Hi. Same problems - error 9006 - googled - seems common. At wits end with this piece of crap cell!!! Money makes money thats for sure !!! and in South Africa, everyone blames everyone when no-one actually has any idea what the F_ _ k they talking about. One iPhone 4S for sale here .............

You are going to have issues with newer versions of iOS and ActiveSync if you stick with Exchange 2003. It's badly out of date. The reason it changed in iOS is because Micro$oft said it had to in order to remain compatible. You really need to get up to Exchange 2007 or later.
