If I move my iTunes library so that I can restore my computer, will I still have all my play counts and ratings?

If I move my iTunes library so that I can restore my computer, will I still have all my play counts and ratings? This is very important to me, and I would like to hear from someone who has done it. I am planning on doing a complete restore of my computer, but would like to keep my iTunes Library play count and ratings information. Please let me know if I should follow Apple's instructions, or if there is something else I should do.
