I have just managed to cancel my Netflix account. It showed up on our appleTV as my wifes Apple ID, but under iTunes, it showed no subscription to Netflix! arrgghhh! Anyway, after wasting an hour trying to get sense out of Netflix themselves and iTunes, I thought id try logging into my itunes account and seeing if it was a subscription there. It was! How it showed with her apple ID but was in my totally different itunes account i'll never know. Worth checking another itunes account in the house if you have same issue.

This DIDN'T solve the problem. OK, so auto-renew is disabled but it's still there under subscriptions. I never want to see Netflix again. Is the only option to close my Apple account? Netflix really ***** and I want rid of it, but they've made it intentionally almost impossible to get rid of

I got, by mistake,  an additional  subscription to netflix via ATV and itunes, I manage to stop the automatic renew but the account is somehow  still linked to my itunes, I mean There is no way that I can subscribe my original netflix account with itunes, only the one that I  erroneously got. I try to follow the instructions in http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4098 but I end up  paying again for the wrong netflix account (which in fact it is not mine) . Is there a way to subscribe to a different account? or I will have forever  this subscription?

I have a similar problem. I contacted Netflix via their chat service and got them to delete my account and ALL my information. However Netfllix is still visible in my iTunes subscriptions and Netflix said that they can't do anything about that and that I should contact iTunes. I have disabled the auto renew and Netflix have deleted my account so I don't have to pay anything. I opened a support case with iTunes but only got idiotic replies with links to instructions on how to turn off auto renew which I had already done. The support person either couldn't be bothered to read my issue properly or wasn't capable of understanding. So, Netflix is still there. The only way I can think of getting rid of it is to close your iTunes account and open a new one. Once you subscribe to Netflix, it's with you for life (or as long as your iTunes account is in use).

    Finally figured it out.

There is a link in the managing of your account from the Netflix website.

That link allows you to manage your subscription from the iTunes store...It's not very clear that all you have to do is click the statement.

Use iTunes to cancel or manage your subscriptions

For us in North America there is no Subscription link in the iTunes Account Quick links.

Anyways here is the actual link it goes to.

    https://buy.itunes.apple.com/WebObjects/MZFinance.woa/wa/manageSubscriptions

You need to be running iTunes on your PC but the subscription details come up and you can modify and cancel the autorenew.

    Cheers!

Actually, it does not work, You can from itunes stop paying netflix but can not change the subscriber. I mean, the subscriber is still listed there in Itunes and  you can not subscribe to  a different netflix account

Exactly! That is the problem. BUT try explaing it to the iTunes support person - they are too stupid to understand, they will just fob you off and close the case.

Though Netflix insists that I activated a subscription via iTunes (which I did not), the subscription link doesn't even show up in my iTunes account screen.  Netflix says call Apple.. Apple says call Netflix... AHHHHRRRGGGG!!!

Have you confirmed your iTunes account name with Netflix?

LIke it was mentioned earlier, the Netflix account cannot be removed but at least you should be able to stop the recurring payments.

Failing that have you thought of stopping payment via the credit card used?

    That should get someone's attention.
