Only show songs on my phone

I have itunes match, but when commuting on the subway, where there is no cell service I would like to go through a list of songs only on my phone. When I add the songs that are on my phone to a playlist they only apperar as song and I cannot sort by artist, since my playlist is usally around 1400 tracks. Is there a work around for this?
