how to reset locked iPod touch

Hi- My kids were playing with my iPod touch (its about 3 yrs old) and it has locked me out for 22,850 minutes. I'd like to reset it as it won't respond to allow me to put in my passcode. Even a few days later it still has over 22K mins to go before it will let me log in. I think something is wrong......

Restore the iPod from the computer to which the iPod is synced. For information and instructions, see:

If that will not work, you'll need to put the iPod into Recovery Mode and then try the Restore again:

If that still doesn't work, as a last resort try DFU mode:
