After 5.1.7 Update today, Safari loads facebook with broken compoents. I can't see my messages and many buttons don't load on facebook. Is there a way to install a clean copy of Safari?

A clean install of Safari would require reinstalling the Mac OS X using Lion Recovery
Try troubleshooting Safari first.
From your Safari menu bar click Safari > Preferences then select the Privacy tab.
Click: Remove All Website Data
Quit then relaunch Safari. Try FB.
The missing buttons on the facebook bar are now back. But I'm still unable to check my messages. When I click on my conversations in my message box this is what I see:

Make sure Java is enabled in Safari > Preferences > Security
And try deleting the cache associated with Safari.
Quit Safari.
Go to ~/Library/Caches/com.apple.Safari/Cache.db.
For Lion v10.7x: To find the Home folder in OS X Lion, open the Finder, hold the Option key, and choose Go > Library
Move the Cache.db file to the Trash.
Relaunch Safari. Try FB.
I'm pretty sure it's not a FB issue because I'm not having any problems with FB with Safari 5.1.7 on Lion v10.7.3

Issue remains. Is there a way to uninstall/reinstall the 5.1.7 update?

i erase the cache, reinstall 10.7.4 combo update, reinstall java and flash... same problem
when i log in to facebook, only text on the left side is loading, but no structure
I downloaded Safari 5.1.7 and reinstalled it. Problem still remains.

I'm also having problems loading Facebook after I updated to OS X 10.7.4 and Safari 5.1.7
I am having the same issues, on OS X 10.6.8. If you use https instead of http to browse FB then it works. You can turn on secure browsing in your FB prefs to use https links. It seems that one of FBs javascript files has gotten corrupted, I'm not sure its a Safari issue.
I'm also having the problem in Google Chrome, so it may be a WebKit issue.
I confirm that the problem presists in Google Chrome as well and that facebook works fine on https. It might be the new Mac OS update then.
I have also had issues with fb on both Safari and Chrome but no facebook issues on my friend's PC. Chat only works on my Mac if I am on the Account settings page and I cannot post on my own wall or anyone else's. Messages don't load. Seems to be a Mac issue. Worked fine yesterday though and I haven't updated anything today on Mac (10.6.8)
I updated my friends iMac to Mac OS X 10.7.4 without updating the Safari and it seems that she has the same problem on facebook. So it's definietly not a Safari problem and its related to the new Mac OS X update (10.7.4). I think if you update your mac you will at least be able to post on walls or chat because I don't have problems on those parts.
So if i update to 10.7.4 I will have other issues though aside from chat and posting? It's odd that the issues only started today and I have not updated anythingat all. Nothing has changed on my comp in terms of systems since yesterday when it worked fine although i do notice that chat has a new feature of showing the time messages are read on people's phones so maybe there was an FB update today which messed things up for Macs.
Using https works good.
But after using https once, http started to work well again!
