Export Quicktime Movie - seems a little slow

Just a quickie...

Using Final Cut 7 - OSX Lion -- Exporting a six minute clip via 'Export Quicktime Movie'. The clip is ProRes422 LT 1920x1080 25fps. Exporting to firewire scratch disk.

It's been a year since I've used Final Cut (due to travelling) so I'm a bit vague, but it felt like the export was going far too slow. On the first attempt it was suggesting it would take 20 minutes. I cancelled that and eventually (after some head scratching and more attempts) I trashed the preferences. Now it is down to 5 minutes.

Does anyone have any views on this...? Is it slower than it should be?

Thanks.
