I believe that may vary from IP to IP, so ring your provider or check their website.
Good Luck
Pete
Petermac is correct - most providers have maximums. And, another important thing to consider is the connection speed of the intended recipient of the email - if it's slow, they probably wouldn't appreciate a huge file.
20MB is usually the max, but even 10MB can cause Mail problems.
Remember that you can always compress a file into a .zip before attaching it. To do so, find the file in finder, right click on it (or control-click) and choose "Compress...".
A new file with the same name but the .zip extension will appear in the same folder. Choose that one to attach in your email.
It can also be limited by the receiver's mail service provider as well as your own. I once send a large number of pictures, which my mail service accepted, but the receiver's did not. Your Mileage May Vary.
If you have a huge file or a lot of smaller files to transfer to someone, I suggest you look into an on-line place to park the file, such as Dropbox.com and then send a pointer to the file(s).
Guys my question is actually very simple ending with a "number" every mail providers accept a certain amount so forget download speed and all the stuff I read above ; these are details what a mail service company like GOOGLE gmail or iCloud through Mail app. can use is different for each providers so please don't give wrong info to people, thanks -
Ok this is closer to my answer and DROPBOX I used in the past it's a good service.
Good luck. If you don't wish answers then don't seek them. You question was answered earlier. If you wish to ignore it then it does not bother anyone here.
Cheers
Pete
Most ISPs do have maximums. That is not incorrect information. If you know better, no need to ask and no need for your attitude towards the posters who volunteer their time to help - we do not appreciate it.
Good luck.
Softwater was the closest to an answer but still didn't confirm for Mail app on Apple platform what is the exact maximum upload but it's fine.
I appologize if I offended you, really.
It's just that IP is IP and TCP's, IP's are protocols not related to what Mail Service Providers would let you upload they all use the same protocols, sorry.
Thanks for you time though, you're right 🙂 !!
Ring your own ISP and ask them what Your size limit is and then ring up everybody you send a file to and ask what their limit is, and stop expecting everyone else to do your work for you. Your initial question has been answered.
babowa is correct.

Well, if you were the Apple certified pro you claim to be, you would know that an application such as Mail by itself does not have a maximum. Mail is an app and not at all like services such as Gmail or Yahoo. It may choke on large attachments but that has nothing to do with a maximum, but simply too much for your processor to handle. The maximums referred to are set by your ISP.
Again ISP has nothing to do with this and I did call my ISP for double confirmation ; so please give them a call and stop insisting and giving people wrong answer and insisting on wrong information wich make it worse.
Comcast is a email server (email provider) and even though they are an ISP as well the dept. that is limiting storage is their email server not ISP for example I use TIME WARNER which has no limitation but if you use road runner their email server (name@roadrunner) then they do limit (roadrunner limit attachment) road runner is their email server department, so Google, Yahoo, me.com (in my case) comcast, roadrunner are email server that all limit their attachment in my case it's around 25MB with apple for Gmail (google) that I use I'm not sure.
So that is the difference between email server (aka email provider) and ISP which is just an internet service provider ; apple with me.com is an email provider but not an ISP.
Thanks -
