May 11, 2012 2:49 PM in response to MylesThoby Russ H,One other thought. If you haven't already exported a fully-rendered QT movie of this project, I would do that before the uninstall. If push comes to shove you could always bring that movie to someone who has either iDVD our DVD Studio Pro or some third party authoring app and have them burn the DVD.

May 11, 2012 3:55 PM in response to Russ Hby MylesTho,Thanks very much for your help Russ.
I removed FCPX and Compressor with the Remover, reinstalled both, tested DVD export with just FCP, got the same error. Tried DVD export with FCPX and Compressor installed, got the same error.
The only export ('Share') option that works now with FCPX is 'Export Media' > Quicktime.
I wonder if someone can root out where the error lies - FCPX is essentially crippled, and Compressor is literally useless to me.

May 11, 2012 5:42 PM in response to MylesThoby Russ H,Frustrating to be sure – to you most of all. Had thought the re-install of FCPX would do it.
Only thing to add to Tom's suggestion is that in order to meet your Mon deadline, you might take your QT export into an Apple or third party (Toast, Encore) authoring app. For the broader issue, when/if you do get a resolution, please post it.

May 12, 2012 3:03 AM in response to Russ Hby MylesTho,Thanks Tom and Russ.
I've spent so much time on this and become so frustrated, I asked for a refund but the staff at the support centre refused.
I got the following response this morning...
. . .
My name is Stephanie and I am a Senior Advisor with iTunes Store Customer Support. Princess has forwarded your request to me for further review.
I see that you are requesting a refund for the app "Compressor", as it does not function. I can certainly understand your concern and will be happy to look into this for you.
I've looked into this for you and upon researching your account I discovered this app was originally downloaded on 8/24/2011. While we are able to assist with purchases, and in certain situations can repost a lost item or one not working correctly, we recommend that our customers notify us as soon as possible from the original purchase date. Our ability to resolve any issues or assist with recover diminishes greatly with time.
You request for a refund for "Compressor" was carefully considered; however, according to the iTunes Store Terms of Sale, all purchases made on the iTunes Store are ineligible for refund. This policy matches Apple's refund policies and provides protection for copyrighted materials.
If you have any further questions about your iTunes account, please don't hesitate to contact us. Have a great day!
. . .
Have a great day indeed.

May 12, 2012 5:56 AM in response to MylesThoby Russ H,Myles, Think what Tom Wolsky was suggesting is that your issues probably should be addressed in person by a Tech who can run tests and determine first-hand what's going on.

May 12, 2012 6:39 AM in response to Russ Hby MylesTho,Yes, it may be necessary to get it looked at.
I recently found another identical - and apparently unsolved case...

Mar 31, 2013 8:08 PM in response to MylesThoby bikinijack,I thought the new updates to Compressor, 4.0.6, and then to 4.0.7, would fix this issue but it didn't. Just to let you all know I still have the exact same issue as MylesTho. It hands at 95% when going to burn a DVD...

Up until 1 onth ago, I was able to export to YouTube without problem, and then one day it stopped working. So I was just "Exporting Media" and then uploading it YouTube from my computer. Now, when I go to "Share" and "Export Media" the new window to export doesn't even show up. and then when I try exporting to YouTube, Facebook, Email, or Vimeo I get the same error as MylesTho.
I also have never purchased or downloaded a compressor on to my iMac.
@Killamen- I would like to try your solution, but I don't have compressor 4.0.7 installed on my computer. Any other suggestions?

Nov 6, 2013 9:29 AM in response to TerryJuddby Russ H,It sounds like your version of FCPX is outdated. Your export isssues maybe solved by updating.

Nov 10, 2013 7:05 PM in response to TerryJuddby kobpho,Exact same problem here! This is bad. I cant export it neither share it on youtube/vimeo!
I tried to trash the Compressor plist files. But still the same.
Again. This pops up after I try to share the video on youtube:
(com.apple.Compressor.CompressorKit.ErrorDomain-Fehler -1.)
PS: "Fehler" means error in german.

But 2 weeks ago everything was just fine!Let me guess: in between, you upgraded to Mavericks. Old versions of FCP X (like 10.0.3, which is almost two years old!) do not work well with Mavericks. You should really update to 10.0.9.
