Email on iCloud not working, AGAIN

AT 6:55 Eastern, iCloud email is not working again in the New York, Long Island area. Why has iCloud email been so unreliable? This failure has been happening on a regular basses. Please, if anyone with a vast Apple knowledge has any advice I'm open to suggestions.

I was down last week and i thought icloud was now reliable. I started sending messages with a bcc to myself. I sent 3 different emails this evening with in 3 minutes and one never ended up in my email account. The recipient didn't get it but it is in the sent box!!!!

Now I wonder how many times that happened before I started bcc myself.

what an unreliable mess.

i would rather have it not working than think it is working and it is not!!!

Dear All,

You're not getting Apple's attention on here. You're better off sending them feedback via the website link below, or via e-mail to one of the corporate executives (easily found via Google search).

Basically, opining on a public message board is not going to get any direct attention from Apple on this.

The reality is pretty simple: Apple's really good at some things, this just isn't one of them. 😐

As an anecdote, I finally gave up on iCloud altogether. After nearly a month of troubleshooting, screenshots, cataloging dates and times, calls to AppleCare, I finally had to give up on it for sanity's sake. I moved everything over to Google's Gmail and couldn't be happier with it.

It's happening again within a three weekk span, which brings me to three separate occasions. Each time I've deleted the account and set it up again. That seems to be the only "fix" I've found. Now, the rotating clock-like icon just keeps spinning incessantly. Why can't Apple repair this problem? Is there no moderator working for Apple that actually reads these posts?

I have solved my problem. Actually two problems.

1) Apparently, my old MobileMe password did not conform to the new iCloud password standards, so my account was diabled. I needed to go to iforgot.apple.com to fix that.

2) However, I had a MobileMe account with a @mac.com or @me.com extension. I also had an Apple ID that was just what was in front of the @mac.com. I needed to use the full email address to reset the password, but I was using just the first part.

On my MacBook, I went to iforgot.apple.com and reset my password using (name)@mac.com. Then I went to Settings, clicked iCloud and logged out, then logged back in with the new password. Email, iCal and iTunes are now all back up and functioning. Hope this helps someone else caught in the iCloud transition, wondering what has gone haywire.

Maybe Apple should just outsource iCloud to Google, as they should have done with MobileMe. Gmail doesn't seem to have nearly the downtime iCloud does; they're also a lot more transparent about it than Apple is.

Case in point:

Google's Apps Dashboard: http://www.google.com/appsstatus

or.

iCloud System Status: http://www.apple.com/asia/support/icloud/systemstatus/

Please, tell me how I'm wrong on this....
