My os upgraded yesterday and my apps say they are installed but they are not on my front screen. How do I get them back on the screen without deleting them and reinstalling?

I am having trouble understanding how to get my apps back on front screen of my iPad. My iPad upgraded yesterday and now all my already purchased apps are not on there anymore. In my setting they are there and in my app store they say already installed...help please!

iPad, iOS 5.1.1

Check the bottom of your Home screen. Below the apps ans above the tray should be a row of dots. The indicates the number of screen you have. I suspect you will see more then one. Swipe the screen to go to the next. More than likely you will see your apps there. Tap and hold any app icon until they all start to wiggle, then drag any you wish to move. Moving them from screen to screen can be a bit tricky until you get the hang of it. Just drag it to the edge of the screen until the screen changes.

If the above does prove to be correct, try a reset: Simultaneously hold the Home and the On buttons until the iPad shuts down. Ignore the off slider if it appears. This should take about then seconds or so. Once the iPad has shut down, press the On button to restart it.

Have had that happen before (Doesn't show on iPad, but iTunes says installed). Here's what I did. First connect to iTunes and un-select the applications that are supposedly installed on the iPad. Sync. After iTunes shows that they are not on the iPad go back to the applications tab and select the ones you want reinstalled and re-sync. They should show up then. It's a bit of a pain, but the only work around that I've found. Hope this helps.

Not something I've experienced first hand either, on the old original iPad or the new one (I skipped iPad 2). The only issues I have experienced with either, not including the occasional bad app design 😝, is an WiFi connectivity issue, which turned out to be an Airport configuration and a user error at that, and an app that didn't want to repond at all. The reset fixed it.

The reset is good first troubleshooting step since it does absolutely no harm and will correct some quirks and issues. Not always of course, but much of the time.
