wifi issues?

I have just purchased a new IMAC and it will not pick up Wifi from my home router/modem. I have called my provider and they think theres something wrong with the computer as even in network the splat beside the wifi is yellow not green??

iMac, Mac OS X (10.7.2)

The yellow jelly by the WiFi interface just means your WiFi is either not associated or does not have a "non" self-assigned ip address.


What kind of security are you using on the router?


What kind of router is it? Make/Model?


When you got your Mac, do you do a migration from another Mac, or is this a new install with no existing user data migrated?


Can you connect ok with Ethernet? If so, please update to 10.7.4 (your sig line says you are using 10.7.2).
