AT&T sent an email saying I am eligibile for the unlock, following the steps, now what should be the right step

Also I dont have AT&T sim card with me, can I do with other Micro sim card ?
Were you using the phone before you requested the unlock from AT&T? How? Was the phone hacked/jailbroken to unlock it prior to when AT&T started offering unlocking?
No I am not using the iphone before or even till now, this is just Ipod for me... Can I insert any local micro sim and then restore from Itunes, will that solve my issue
I don't think so. You could contact AT&T for a SIM card so you could actually call/text people on your iPhone.
This was purchased by someone else, so i dont have the official sim card... now what should I do
Give this phone back to that one person, or return it and get a new phone. If you don't want to call/text people, you could continue to use this iPhone as an iPod.

You will have to go to AT&T for a factory unlock. T-Mobile doesn't have iPhones, and it is illegal to unlock an iPhone by yourself. AT&T is the only company that unlocks iPhones.

No. You must use AT&T sim card. Contact AT&T Customer Support for more information.

I used other than AT&T sim card and my problem is solved and phone is unlocked 🙂
