configure kerberos

Hi there,

I'm fairly new to 10.5 Server coming for 10.3.9 Server which I used mainly for afp. Now I'm working on configuring new services like iCal Server. I have the book Mac OSX Server Essentials with me but the configuration doesn't go as the book says. Obviously my bad. I have Open Directory and DNS running.

When I launch Kerberos and click new, I'm supposed to get my server name prompted in the Realm field. however it's not. Even when I click the pull down it's blank. When I type the servers address (machine.domain.com) and hit OK I get this error: "cannot resolve network address for KDC in requested realm".

So what am I missing? TIA

Power Mac G4 (Mirrored Drive Doors 2003), Other OS, 10.5.8 Server
