Q: Installation of Apples's v2.4 Samsung printer driver under OS X 10.7.4 fails.

Installation of Apples's v2.4 driver for Samsung printers ML-191x 252x under OS X 10.7.4 (and 10.7.3) fails. Upgrade to 10.7.3 rendered my ML-1915 useless; phenomena described by several other users.

Apparently, the certificate is not a clue. Attempt to install newly downloaded driver from Apple ended up as follows. Thank you very much anyway, John. There is no help neither from Apple nor from Samsung. Interestingly, Software Update does not identify the old driver as obsolete, although Apple itself offers a new version. To me, the bottom line of the protocol is sheer mockery.

Have you tried deleting the /LibraryPrinters/Samsung folder before installing?

I didn't before (not part of the installation routine), but following your suggestion I tried again after deletion. See results below. Thank you anyway again, John.

This solved my problem for the time being:

"I actually have a Dell 1110 monochrome laser printer which, apparently, is the same printer as the Samsung ML 2010. After much digging, I was able to find and install the Samsung ML 2010 driver from Samsung's Australian website. It is a 2.00 version; however, the drivers installed and functioned properly, whereas the same 2.00 driver versions from Samsung's USA site did not. I am running OS X Lion 10.7.1. Here is the link to the ML 2010 driver on Samsung's Australian site...

    http://www.samsung.com/au/support/detail/supportPrdDetail.do?menu=SP01&prd_ia_cd =1704&prd_mdl_cd=ML-2010%2FXSA&prd_mdl_name=ML-2010&srchword=ML-2010#

Hope it works for you guys...I love my trusty mono laser printer and was very happy to find the correct drivers and get it installed. I was not looking forward to a new printer purchase on top of the new iMAC!!"

    Thank you so much, Steph5137!
