Q: Installation of Apples's v2.4 Samsung printer driver under OS X 10.7.4 fails.

Apparently, the certificate is not a clue. Attempt to install newly downloaded driver from Apple ended up as follows. Thank you very much anyway, John. There is no help neither from Apple nor from Samsung. Interestingly, Software Update does not identify the old driver as obsolete, although Apple itself offers a new version. To me, the bottom line of the protocol is sheer mockery.

This solved my problem for the time being:

"I actually have a Dell 1110 monochrome laser printer which, apparently, is the same printer as the Samsung ML 2010. After much digging, I was able to find and install the Samsung ML 2010 driver from Samsung's Australian website. It is a 2.00 version; however, the drivers installed and functioned properly, whereas the same 2.00 driver versions from Samsung's USA site did not. I am running OS X Lion 10.7.1.
