After new update iPad does not work.

After I updated my iPad to the new 5.1.1 update my iPad no longer works. I apple logo will appear, then disappear. Forced shut downs do not work. Pushing both buttons does not work, connecting it to my home computer - itunes does not even recognize that it is plugged in...any suggestions. I can't get to the home screen or even to the red slider thing.
