No this is a new machine, few months old. Transfered all my programs from my old Mac Pro, then purchased Aperture 3 from App Store. Once my photo libraries were udated, Aperture 3 worked fine. Then just one day it stopped. Reminds me of my PC days.

In the old days I would just reload the program, but the App store will not let me do that. Know of a way I can get the program on disk.

I can open the library and when I "Show Packet Contest", all my photos are there, so it appears to be the program it'self and not a corrput library

Is there a crash report? You did not answer that part of my question. If there is, we really do need to see it.

but the App store will not let me do that.

If you bought Aperture from the AppStore, you can download it again from the Store, when you move Aperture from the "Applications" Folder to the Trash (do not empty the Trash). Then you should again see the download option.

That is not conclusive evidence. You may be able to see all your images, and the library may still be corrupted. It contains several database files besides the images.

Have you tried to repair your Library permissions? If not, I suggest you try to run the "Aperture Library First Aid" tools:

Hold down the command and the options key while you double-click your Aperture library. From the panel that (hopefully) will appear, select: "Repair Permissions".

If that does not help, try "Repair Database" next.

You may have imported a corrupted image, and Aperture crashes while trying to create a preview. Try to launch Aperture with the "Shift" key hold down. This will prevent the creation of previews.

Thanks for the crash report - that makes it clear: You have a missing framework in your system library:

The Aperture Application tries to call the "PluginManager" framework and it seems not to be there.

/Library/Frameworks/PluginManager.framework/Versions/B/PluginManager

You have two options: To reinstall the operatiing system or to restore the above Framework from your Time Machine Backup.

The question is, how you lost the Framework. Did you install "Final Cut" or other multimedia software lately?

To check if the Framework really is missing, open your System Library

Your Hardrive > Library > Frameworks > PluginManager.framework > Versions and look, if you have this Framework or not.

If you want to restore from Time Machine, add the "Frameworks" folder to your Finder sidebar for easy access, before you dive into Time Machine.

If you rather want to reinstall the system, use the update combo from the Apple Support web site.

OS X Lion Update 10.7.4 (Client Combo)
