I would be interested to know if updating, for example, Lion 10.7.2 to 10.7.3, or 10.7.3 to 10.7.4, also updates the System on the Lion Recovery Disk.
I thought I could find out by booting on the Recovery Disk, but there's no "About this Mac" item in this System's Apple menu.
Anyone knows ?

If an update was needed then it would be done automatically.
There isn't a full OS on the Recovery HD, so there is nothing to update to 10.7.4. However, there may be things that need to be updated for supporting a 10.7.4 volume and that would be updated if needed.
About OS X Utilities. Version 1 (33), whatever that means.

The Recovery HD partition contains an internal file that shows a version number such as 10.7.3 or 10.7.4 corresponding to the OS version that installed it. You can peek into that file - see my posts in this thread:

The Recovery HD does not get routinely updated when there are updates to the OS partition, but it doesn't matter operationally , as discussed in that thread.

Nothing is mentioned in the details about what's in 10.7.4 at this update link.
The Recovery HD was last updated when 10.7.2 came out 10/12/2011. A separate download was available from Apple. Since then, I'm not aware of any other updates to it.
Is Recovery disk also updated to 10.7.4 ?
