Adding Video Categories

Adding Video Categories

Ya know those categories in the iTunes Video menu: All, Movies, Music Videos, Podcasts and TV Shows that act as filters to only show the type of video selected...
Well I was wondering if there was a way to add your own. e.g. Home Videos, Commercials, Private Videos etc. ?
Because right now anything that is not a TV show, Podcast or Music Video get lumped together under that blanket term "Movies".

Set up a new genre and then create a new smart list.

I think you've misunderstood what I mean.
I have many smart playlists. This is not a playlist issue.
I'm talking about when you click the video icon on the left hand menu and the black screen with all the movies appears. You have different categories along the top of that screen.
I want to add more categories.

If you are referring to the name-artist-time-album - then go to menu>edit>view options or do a CMD-J will let you add more view options.

If you mean the very top bar I think you are outta luck.

Yeah that is the exact same reason I came to this discussion forum. I hate it when I sync with my iPod and they are all in the same folder. I have several episodes of Family Guy and the BBC Office that I would LOVE to have under TV Shows along with the rest of my iTunes purchased content. There needs to be a way to do this, and add on Full Length Movies as well as other catagories.

with what you're talking about it's quite simple. Just go to the track info in iTunes and go to options and choose the kind of video. TV Show, Movie OR Music Video.
