Please help! I live in Guernsey, one of the channel islands under the jurisdiction of the UK. I am trying to set up iTunes but it says that it is the iTunes store is not available in this regin, even though there are Apple stores on the island? Help?

You may have found this by now, but if you use GU instead of GY in the postcode it should work OK. It seems Apple doesn't check the card billing info, or at least they didn't when I did it a while ago............once accepted, you'll be able to use the itunes/appstore etc with no issues.

Sorry, but there is no iTunes Store for Guernsey. As a crown dependency rather than a full part of the UK, the licensing for the content in the UK iTunes Store doesn't apply to Guernsey nor Jersey, so you can't use that Store.

so can i just change my postcode and when linking my bank card as it is registered to my guernsey address is it going to tell me i cant use my bank card with that itunes account as it isnt registered to an uk address

As I say, I haven't done this in a long time, so not sure if it still works, but it's just the postcode that causes the problem. The Apple system doesn't appear to get upset that the billing address isn't strictly correct, as the card details still work for them to get your cash....... I think any UK postcode will work, it just happens that I used "GU" instead of "GY"......

ok well i was sold this phone in the guernsey iphone shop so why do they sell them here if you cant use itunes here
