Certain songs skip on my new iPod nano 6th generation?

I just recieved a new iPod nano 6th gen as the replacement for my iPod nano 1st gen. When i synced it and began listening to it, I found certain songs just get skipped right over. When i select these songs, it goes directly to the next one. When I'm listening on shuffle, it stops playing completely. I have tried resyncing and resetting my iPod but no luck. Any ideas?
