i have been using Pages to make flyers and labels but its so limited. I cant buy the $700 Adobe Illistrator. is there an app that i can use to curve lettering like in a circular shape? I have been using Picasa but it doesnt have that option either. Years ago i used Photoshop on an old IBM and it did everything i needed but there isnt anything like that on the Mac. Why? Is there an inexpensive (like under $50) Photoshop for Mac?
Try art 2 Text Lite from the Mac AppStore. It is free.
Photoshop was originally a Mac only program, but never under $50.
There are a range of drawing appliacations available fromt the Mac App Store and from Macupdate.com amongst other places.

i typed this in and there wasnt anything, there was a word text lite, whats the full name of the app?
Photoshop Elements is only 80 bucks and is very powerful. Would do everything you want and more. The other app mentioned is Art Text 2... 20 bucks for the full version, but I would put the money towards photoshop elements.
Ignore that one is bitmap and the other is vector.

this is exactly what i need for the project im on and i downloaded it. been playing with it and cant seem to find where you curve it like you have here! there are no directions or tutorials so im just experimenting with every button. how did you do this?
forgeot to mention, i also dont see where you can import your image in to put the lettering over, ill keep playing with it but i wish there was a simple, straight forward way to do this like the Photoshop used to be.

In the Art text 2 application go View > geometry panel > choose curved option > you can now drag the handles to form the word in a more circular way and also try the slider handles
It is alway difficult to relearn from one way to work to another.
I exported the curved word as an pdf. I added the pdf file to my pages document. Then I chose a shape which I added a photo to from the Media browser in Pages. When all was adjusted I went Arrange > Group to make them to one object. Took me max 2 minutes.
