Has your daughter not got a backup copy of them on, for example, an external drive ? If not, then depending on what country that you are in you might be able to re-download them from the store for free via the Purchased link under Quick Links on the right-hand side of the iTunes store home page on your computer : re-downloading.
No she did not have them backed up. I tried what you said and out of her 600 songs only 127 is showing. Thanks for the info guess the rest is lost.
