How to make mac ask me where to save a screenshot with com shift 4 then drag to select area?

So right now I can press command+shift+4,

then select the area I want to capture,

then the computer saves it as Picture## on my desktop.

Instead I would rather press command+shift+4,

then select the area I want to capture,

then have the computer prompt me to save as, similar to the save as option in other applications.

I know that I am able to change the folder location by:

opening terminal and pasting:

defaults write com.apple.screencapture location /path/

killall SystemUIServer

but, is there an element, like "location", that will make the computer ask me

1. Where I want to save the picture

2. What to name the picture

I know this is somewhat difficult, I have taken, and am currently taking programming classes

at the University of Washington, but have not done any programming with terminal. I know HTML,

PHP, Javascript, Java, CSS just the basics.

MacBook, Mac OS X (10.5.8)
