iCloud Contacts - Cannot delete contact(s)

I noticed some contacts on my web-based iCloud could not be deleted.

The error message:

Dialog.Error.Text.Contact.DESTROY.NOT_FOUND

appeared whenever I tried to delete a contact.

In fact I want to delete all of my iCloud contacts so that I can upload a clean set.

I have tried signing out of iCloud and signing in again only to find that the old undeleteable contacts remain. If I then re-sync with my iMac address book, I get duplicate entries.

Please help.

Kind regards

Nick

Okay. I've solved this (accidently).

By adding a new iCloud contact, the others that I couldn't delete, just disappeared! So I deleted the one I just added and found myself with a completely empty iCloud Address Book.

I simply restored my archived contacts to my iMac and checked the box to sync my Contacts in iCloud on the iMac, and hey presto the clean address book flooded into my iCloud.

AAH...lol, this really bites. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I did some research and talked my boss into getting us both on icloud through iphones and ipads, and now the "great" syncing system I told him about is making me look horrible. We merged into a 80-man company who also were interested in seeing us succeed, and I am making us look so bad! If anyone finds a solution that works...please let me know!!

Thanks,

Roxy

iCloud is not a multi user 'sync' system, (it is not a sync system at all, it keeps your personal calendars and contacts in a web based database to which you can subscribe) and it is far more of an individual user system than a muti user one. What are you trying to do with it?

Think i found it.

Log in www.icloud.com

Remove all information of the contact you want to delete. Phone, adress, ...

Remove the name and replace the name with A.

Save

Modify en click remove.

Chech your list "all contacts".

If A is still there delete again. Faster with the cmd del button.

Check again.

If there is no A but something like "no name" delete it also.

Check you total number of contacts and you 'll see 1 less.
