Q: instal mac Os in external hd
The internal HD from my iMacG5 is gone, and i have changed it a couple of times, and it still breaks.
Now I am trying to instal the Mac OS in ans external HD and use it from there.
I have a brand new G-Drive with firewire connection, and the instalation disk says I cannot install the OS system from it.
What is wrong?
How does the drive has to be formatted?
Thanks
Andre

For a PowerPC Mac, the drive needs to be a FireWire drive using the APM partition map, and the install DVD cannot be one designed for a different Mac model.
Allan, did you see the 'G5' and 'Mac OS X 10.1' above?
