    Barbara,

When   posting the more information  you provide the easier it is to help you. We don't have any idea what you have done or not done, what printer it is or really anything so it's VERY tough to assist. Remember to try and paint a clear picture for us, if you do then you can get some suggestions.

BTW did you check to see if the printer is turned on and connected to the computer?

Sorry for lack of detail, just totally frustrated.  Printer is wirelessly connected to iMac. It is a Samsung CLX-3185FW which has been working until today. Printer is indeed turned on and connected to the computer. In trying to resolve with iMac OSX Lion 10.7.4 went to System Preferences Printer & Faxes and tried to open print queue which will not open to let me perhaps delete any print queue that is causing issue. Cheers

Can the printer be "seen" in the Print & Scan preference, please look in System Preferences - Print & Scan. If it's being seen then right click the printer in the box on the left and choose "Reset printing system...." This will look like:

    Hi there,

Iam able to go into Print & Scan and attempted to click on my printer name exactly as you have indicated however there is no response similar to the no response when trying to open print queue. I did look in the printer log and it said that unable to add document to print job. Not sure what is going on.

OK, my new Magic Trackpad wasn't waving it's magic. I hooked up my old Logitech mouse and was able to right click printer. and selected reset printer system. When I then went to add printer there were no selections available. I then re-installed my Samsung software and now get message The printer is not connected and Printer is offline. I'm new to all this so hope you can help further.

    Same problem.

Yesterday I was printing fine on the Samsung CLX 3185FW.

This morning I upgraded to OS X 10.7.4. No more printing?

I have downloaded the latest drivers from Samsung.

I have "Reset printing system.... in the 'Print & Scan' preference. (Also had to reinstall my Canon Photo Printer MG 6140 - no problem there)

The OSX software only identifies the following "Samsung CLS-3180 Series fax-TCP/IP (192.168.1.5)". In the 'Kind' field its says 'Samsungfax'

If I select this "printer" and add it I am unable to print. (I am assuming there may be a mixup with the fax driver?)

Never before have I had a problem with the MacBook Pro or the Samsung Laser/Scanner/Fax.

Can any one out there shed some light on this highly irritating problem. (Have wasted half my Sunday trying to sort it out)

The problem may be you are using the Samsung software, you don't need it and shouldn't use it. Please follow the manufacturer's instructions for uninstalling it. Then restart in Safe Mode and then restart normally. Next carefully read and follow the instructions for installing a Wi-Fi printer in Apple's Printing Overview OS X Lion. If you do this the printer first needs to be installed on your network, you will probably find a network wizard on the printer for doing this, remember to have your network security code handy as it will be needed. Once the printer is on the network the computer should be able to see it and it can then be easily added. Follow the directions in the Printing Overview advice letter and you shouldn't have any issues.
