downloaded only half the song

I had a similar issue, but my song is showing downloaded in the Purchased section. When I try to play the song, it plays a few seconds, and then skips through the rest of the album.

There is no charge if you follow these steps: iTunes 10 for Windows: Download previous purchases from the iTunes Store

1. Delete the song from your iTunes library

2. Redownload it via the Purchased link under Quick Links

(Quick Links is on the right-hand side of the iTunes store home page on your computer's iTunes)

3. Check and play song- it should play in its entirety now. If not contact support.

That's a simple version of all the faff iTunes gives you. I had the same problem.

You would think this would be a priority for Apple given everyone's problems.

I have done everything sugested (I redownloaded 3 or 4 times, its not helping) and I still only get less than half way with my music. Im trying to get the twilight sound track, Twilight(The Score). I agree with rbragg, if too many people have this problem, than no one will buy the music.

I can only find my apps from the "Purchased" category. No music whatsoever. When I go to my account and then to recent purchased, my recent purchases (one album and one song out of another album) show though. But as they don't show in the "purchased" category at all, there is no way for me to download them.

I tried the "Store" -> "Download available files" route as well. When I do, Store informs me that I have already downloaded all my purchases. I deleted the songs from iTunes before doing any of this.

Is there any other way for me to get the COMPLETE songs? I can't believe I only got previews when I paid for a full album. This is ridiculous.

Do you have iCloud? Because I had the same problem when buying from iTunes (on Mac) and downloading on the iPhone.. I solved my problem by creating a AAC version (right click on song, click on "create AAC version"). I deleted the original track and downloaded the new one.. Voila! Complete song! Enjoy.. 😝

I have gone through these steps multiple times and iTunes continues to only download the partial song. Other songs are fine but there are two specifically of the download set that continue to pose problems. I have fully deleted them and then re-downloaded through the cloud icon with the same result each time. Any ideas? Apple?

Let me add two steps to Einnocon's list...

A) After delete file, restart iTunes

B) Download each song individually (No simultious downloads)

Either the simultanious downloads or attempting for a fourth time ultimately downloaded the complete songs.

Apple, two words: "regression testing" as this was never a problem until the last few months.

I had the same problem, Redownloading did not work for me. I was able to fix it by deleting song from all places (iTunes, iPhone, iPod) and then went back and listened to it from Cloud in iTunes to let it all buffer into iTunes. After the song played I re-downloaded from iCloud and then synced my devices and the song now plays fine everywhere. Guess it was "Stuck in the cloud" and had to be started over from scratch.
