Q: Decompose an iDVD project

Here is the problem. Created an iDVD project several years ago. Burned to a DVD. The DVD play great. After HD replacement and several OS updates, some of the pieces (iMovie and iPhoto movie clips) are no longer to be found in backups. Is there a way to take apart the DVD that works back into its original pieces so the iDVD project can be reassembled? If not, how to I copy the iDVD that works?

    It's simple to copy the existing DVD video disk. 

     

    1 - insert it in the optical drive

    2 - launch Disk Utility

    3 - select the the disk in the pane at the left.

    4 - click on New Image button, name the disk and select where to save it.

    5 - open the newly created disk image by double clicking on it.

    6 - select the opened disk image in Disk Utility

    7 - insert an empty DVD disk.

    8 - click on the Burn button.  (select the slowest speed available, usually 2x, for best burn quality).
