bluetooth icon is grey

The bluetooth icon is grey on my iphone 4.

It looks like this does not allow the iphone to connect to the iMAC.

What am I doing wrong?

iMac, Mac OS X (10.6.8)

Thank you for your help.

I tried it without success.

In the meantime, I read other forums about the bluetooth on the iphone, and it looks like it only works with a headset! Rather strange for an Apple product!
