I want to add page turning effect in my book. How can I?

You can't do that with iBooks Author. If you want the page turning effect, you need to create a straight ePub, for example, with Pages.

But when I check books on ibooks, designed in ibooks author, I can see this effect. How did they do it?

How do you know they are designed with IBA? Do you have an example link?

IBA does not provide the page-turning effect period. Whereas, if you view a standard ePub with iBooks, you get the page turning effect automatically.

Thanks for answering. I just thought all those books were created in ibookAuthor which were available on ibooks. Can you please suggest me any other authoring tool with page flipping and multimedia features?

You can use Pages to produce ePub, or InDesign, or a number of other tools. They allow you to embed video, but will not provide the interactive features that IBA provides, such as galleries, HTML5 widget, and so on.

My recommendation would be to stick with iBooks Author if the page turning animation is the only feature you are missing. Creating good-looking books is a lot easier with IBA than with other tools.

Take a look at the book 'Yellow Submarine' to see what can be done without using iBA...

Don't think you don't have choices

Thanks K T. Which software did they use to make it?

I downloaded an ibook from apple advertising what ibook can do and how to create ibooks. Why on earth would apple design an epub book to advertise what ibooks can do to incorporate page turning. It makes no sense to me. Obviously if Apple can do it we should be able to do it too.

You can...use Pages. The epub output will have page turn animation by default...built in.

Yes, but that is when I publish it as an epub book. I have not been able to get that affect in ibooks. Am I doing something wrong?

No, that is normal.  iBooks Author .ibooks doesn't do that affect, Pages .epub does.

Please look in the apple store. iPad at Work. It is by apple so I gather it is an ibook. It is of no epub format I know, but I am not an expert. If it is an epub book any tips on duplicating that would be appreciated. This is why I believe ibooks do turn pages. Apple is publishing such books.

Page turn animation depends on what you use to make the ebook/epub.

iBooks does this automatically for standard epubs, yes. A standard epub can be made from Pages, etc.

iBooks does not provide any page turn animation when using a hybrid epub from iBooks Author.

So, "iPad at Work" by apple is an ebook? How can I get the page directory at the bottom of that book and that kind of page turning? It is far different from an epub look. Looks like ibook.
