In my finder, one of my folders has moved to the favourites list on the left hand side, when i just wanted to move the folder to 'movies'.

How do I rectify this?

    You move folder in the Main Window. If you try to move them in the Sidebar area you are at the whim of how that reacts.

     

    Drag the moved folder out of the Sidebar area by holding down the Command key.

    Press and hold the CONTROL key.  Tap on the trackpad and the following menu will appear:

    Select 'Remove from sidebar'.
