Since 5.1.1 problem with bluetooth and partly with WIFI

Since the installation of ios 5.1.1. my iphone 4s can connect neither to my motorola bluetooth headset nor to my canon WIFI printer. Someone here who made the same experience? Is it a bug and eventually already known by Apple IT?

I am having similar issues with my iPhone 4S connecting to my car (2010 Ford Fusion Sync Gen1 - V3.1) and a wireless bluetooth speaker (Monster iClarityHD Precision Micro Bluetooth). It seems to connect fine at times, but during usage the option changes name to 'iPhone Speaker' which is in addtion to the normal 'iPhone' option. The bluetooth device says it's still connected but since the option changed from SYNC/Monster iClarity to 'iPhone Speaker' getting sound to play in the car/device is no longer possible.

This issue has appeared after updating to 5.1.1

Got iPhone 3GS and iPad 2: before update to iOS 5.1.1 both devices could be paired to any other bluetooth discoverable device including a Logitech headset, personal hotspot and each other. Since the update, simply nada. Both iPhone and iPad are searching, searching, searching .. Have tried all the tricks I know of, bluetooth on, bluetooth off, forget device, reboot device and so on. Nada. Great, and now?

I am having same problem. I have an iPhone-4 which I pair with a Dice multimedia bridge unit in my truck which handles all of my music and hands free phone calls through the factory buildin stereo system. Up until last week when I updated my phone to the new os 5.1.1 the system worked flawlessly. After the update I can still get my music as long as it it teathered with the usb cable but no bluetooth connectivity whatsoever. Now my wife has the exact same phone which I haven't updated yet, and her's still works fine with my system. Now, just to make sure that it wasn't because my bluetooth functionality had failed on my phone I pulled out my old motorola in the ear hands free set and the phone works fine with that, just not my expensive Dice system. It would be nice if Apple would fix whatever it was they did to the new os (5.1.1) because it sure caused someting to change. If anybody has any bright ideas as to where to go from here I'd love to hear them.

Hi guys, i have a very big problem regarding iPhone's wi-fi and bluetooth connectivity,

whenever i try to connect any password protected wi-fi iPhone says 'incorrect password' soon after i realize that even bluetooth doesnt accept any device which are password protected and i recieve same error, im not sure but i think it happened after 5.1.1 update, i tried everything but nothing happened, things i tried are below;

- tried different routers/modems

- tried different iPhones (which are connected but mine NO)

- reset Network via iPhone

- hard reset

- tried different kinds (WEP, WPA etc) and combinations of password

- tried different channels (12-13-11-9-Auto etc)

None of them above solved my problem now im trying restore, it will take sometime i guess (internet speed is low)

im using iPhone 4s

ios 5.1.1

If you know anything let me know, help me Please.

Kind Regards.

As I was having the same problem with the Dice multimedia bridge in my Ridgeline, I spent some time yesterday browsing the discussion groups. This is what I found in one of the other groups that I tried and it resolved my issues, go into you iPhone setting pane > general > reset > reset network settings, and there have the phone reset it's network settings. At this point you will lose your passwords to any wi-fi networks that you have set your phone up to automatically log into, but that is all. The next time you want to connect to the specific network you will have to re-enter your password, I figure it's a small price to pay to get all systems working properly again. Anyway the long and short of it is that my hands free system (bluetooth) and all of my wi-fi systems appear to be back to normal. Hope this works or is at least helpful to some of you out there.

Good Luck

I have lost bluetooth with my acura mdx handsfreelink since 5.1.1 We have 2 new ipones a 4s and a 3g, the apple geeks replaced 3g 2 times, both phones failed to connect. Acura tells me its the apple software, handsfreelink co tells me they are getting thousands of calls on this exact problem, apple support won't admit there is a problem, state ios 6 might fix it, but that is coming maybe in oct, now maybe dec 2012. Even having problems with keyboard for ipads we have. Apple support told me first they might have a fix but letting me download a pre 6 ios on beta, then stated they can't do it? I have given them till monday morning then all the phones (2) ipads (2) and two key boards go back, I will have amex back charge them for a product that does not work, end of story going back to andriod or blackberry and a couple new thin laptops, actually cheaper, all over apples stubburn policy of never admitting they made a mistake!

Just bought a Jawbone Jambox speaker and it simply will not show up when seaching for discoverable devices under the Bluetooth pane.
I had some coworkers try to pair with it and all but one could connect. Another 4s of course. All older model iPhones, Android & Blackberry phones found the Jambox almost immediately.

This is quite frustrating after dishing out $200 for a speaker.

There must be a patch or something to address this Bluetooth issue. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers.

Not sure why users are still posing here... Did Eagle-I's solution not work for you all?

While Apple should have released a patch... This solution fixed my devices:

iPhone setting pane > general > reset > reset network settings, and there have the phone reset it's network settings. At this point you will lose your passwords to any wi-fi networks that you have set your phone up to automatically log into, but that is all

Hello Everyone,

I am still posting because apple refuses to assist many of us with this know problem, yes they know it is there. I have recently gotten a direct reply from their management at tech support stating there is a problem but they can not help me. I even asked to be able to swap back to another operating system, no, asked if they would allow me to try a beta version of ios 6 , no, they state problem might be fixed with new release due in nov 2012? Till then no way to assist me or my 4 apple products I paid for that do not work now 100%. I have tried the reset, worked once then went back to seeing nothing. Can't link to Acura handsfreelink, apple blue tooth keyboard for ipads, speakers and ear piece now that 5.1.1 is installed. Kind of like a virus you can't get rid of. I purchased my devices with a amex card, my plan is to return the items to the at&t store, have amex charge them back for there defect devices that do not work as advertised, I have called amex and was told they will back me up. Also I have spoken to handsfreelink tech support and they state its the ios and there is no fix from there end. One rep told me apple is looking to change Bluetooth options to not work when in motion like when driving in a car, they would then have that newer software debugged and of coarse licensed in apples name? I am just one guy, maybe if many more of us called and at least threatened to seek a refund for the hundreds and maybe thousand of dollars spent it would get them to do something other than being the bullies they have turned out to be. Sorry if I have offended the apple folks monitoring this board, some other posts were taken down due to this, hope this one lasts a few days....
