Q: Table of contents starts with the author's name each time.

The author's name is as shown in the field on the page that pops up when you ask to export to an epub.

How do I avoid this?

You can change Author name in your book using Page's Inspector/Document Inspector/Info...'Author' field.

If you leave that field blank, I believe Pages simply pulls your name from your computer logon account/address book.

Thanks for that suggestion. I tried that but it didn't work. When the export is done to an Epub document, there is an author field that you can't leave blank. The next button is greyed out if the author field is blank.

I did find a solution eventually, I had to create a title page and then I had to format the chapter headings to "chapter name" instead of "chapter number".

    Thanks again for your suggestion,.
