Compressor will not quit

Recently, I have been unable to quit Compressor. I have version 3.5.3 as part of Final Cut Studio 2 running on a MacBook Pro with OS X 10.6.8. I can quit using command-option-esc, but I don't want to have to do that every single time, which seems to be the case right now. I have tried restarting the computer and deleting both com.apple.compressor plist files.

Anyone know a fix?
