Ok, after my frustating time seeking the answer to this problem, I came acrossed one link with the answer: Qucktime screen capture! I tried everything, and kept losing quality and time. I work usually on a deadline, and not finding this answer was killing me. I searched and searched and searched. But here is your easy solution with good quality and control which is as simple as 1,2,3...4

1) Open QuickTime, click File, click New Screen Recording

2) Click Record.

3) Open powerpoint and start slide show. (make sure you click screen to start recording)

4) Record, then edit in whatever movie editor you use. I use Final Cut.

But I think you can cut and edit in the QuickTime for Mavericks. Screen Capture is really awesome by the way.

Hope this helps.

Plus, you don't have to download busted programs that are suspect, you know?
