Since the upgrade to IOS5.1.1 when sending an email from my iPad 3 with a pdf attachment (I have tested Pages, Bookkeeping and Readdledocs ) to myself the "open in" option does not pop when you hold your finger on the attachement. IOS mail displays it as a graphic and gives you the option of Copy or Save.

If I send the same email from the same apps on the iPhone 4 with IOS 5.1 it works like it always has.

Is there a setting I have missed on the new IOS?

I ended up doing a factory reset then a restore which fixed the problem for me. Just the restore by itself did not work.

The theory was that the combination of an App and an IOS upgrade caused a glitch with Apple mail and the way it handled PDF attachments with high graphic content. I have had no problems since.
