Q: MacBook running extremely slow..why?
Is it because I still have the Snow Leopard and not the Lion?
Downloaded MacKeeper and cleaned the computer but still not responding normally.

HI..
You need to remove MacKeeper. It will only cause problems on your Mac.
Follow the instructions here > Uninstalling MacKeeper
Results of an ASC forum search for MacKeeper. Nothing favorable > Community Search: Apple Support Communities
Which Mac OS X you have installed has no bearing on the drive slowing down.
And check to see how much free space there is on the startup disk.
Right or control click the MacintoshHD icon. Click Get Info. In the Get Info window you will see Capacity and Available. Make sure there's a minimum of 15% free disk space.
