Disk Drive Not Working

Its been about a month since my disk drive stopped working. I think it started ooff when I saw a little peice of paper that was on the side where the disk drive was. I got a pin to get it off the ledge but instead it went in. After that I decided to check the drive and since then the drive only makes a very faint beeding noice when I enter a CD and after about 10 seconds ejects the CD withouteven any message on screen. I think it might be broken but is there any way of getting it fixed? Will it cost? Is there any way of restoring it without changing it?

P.S. My warrenty has expired so that wont help.

Thanks
