acrobat 8 pro crashes on mac 10.5.8

Question

I installed Acrobat 8 Pro and it keeps crashing after start. I&#x27;ve already tried deleting the plists in Preferences and installed the Updater Plugin w/Framework fix. Enclosed below are the Sys Config and Problem Details. Whew, after nearly an hour of trying to track this thing down, though I can see where it&#x27;s losing it&#x27;s mind, I can&#x27;t really pinpoint the cause, if it&#x27;s not a Memory problem, it seems it must be a bad file somewhere.Have you used Disk Utility to Verify the Disk, then Repaired Permissions?

Thx for the help BDAqua!I just tried Disk Utility to Verify and I immediately got the beach ball. I went to force quit and found that both Utility and Safari were "not responding". Went I clicked to force quit, the window for Utility closed but the program remained open. Same with Safari. I tried to shut down. The dialog box came up but the button would not respond. I had to manually (force) shut down.

Could be many things, we should start with this..."Try Disk Utility1. Insert the Mac OS X Install disc, then restart the computer while holding the C key.2. When your computer finishes starting up from the disc, choose Disk Utility from the Installer menu at top of the screen. (In Mac OS X 10.4 or later, you must select your language first.)*Important: Do not click Continue in the first screen of the Installer. If you do, you must restart from the disc again to access Disk Utility.*3. Click the First Aid tab.4. Select your Mac OS X volume.5. Click Repair Disk, (not Repair Permissions). OK that is Repair Permissions, not to be confused with Repair Disk.Those repeated messages on Permissions can be ignored.Repair Disk, below Verify Disk will be grayed out for the drive you&#x27;re booted from, as you cannot "Repair" the drive you&#x27;re actually running from.
